New Delhi: Indian men’s cricket team has attained the top spot in all three formats in the latest ICC rankings. Winning the Nagpur Test against Australia helped India to gain the number 1 spot ahead of Australia. In the Test team rankings, India stands at the top with 115 rating points, followed by Australia, England and New Zealand.

In player rankings, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja gained spots among the bowlers. Ashwin is just behind the Australian captain Pat Cummins and picking up eight wickets in the first Test helped him gain rating points to come closer to the Australian pacer. Player of the Match in the Nagpur Test, Ravindra Jadeja showed a brilliant performance with both bat and ball after returning from knee surgery. He picked up a total of seven wickets and scored 70 runs and stands at 16th spot among the bowlers.

In the men’s all-rounder rankings, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin stand in the top two spots respectively, while Axar Patel is in the seventh position.

Among the batters, Rohit Sharma, who scored a brilliant 120 off 212, is at the eighth number, just behind Rishabh Pant. The top two spots are held by Australia’s star batters Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith. Labuschagne scored 49(123) in the first inning and Smith posed a fight in both innings with his 35 and 25*.

On the other hand, West Indian captain Kraigg Braithwaite fell four spots to the 21st rank and Zimbabwean batter Craig Ervine jumped 15 spots. Zimbabwe managed to draw the first Test against West Indies, courtesy of Garry Ballance’s century and lost the second by an inning and four runs with Guadakesh Motie picking 13 wickets.
